Before sending money to someone on the forum, go over this list. If more than one item applies, don't make the purchase.
- Does it have a verification badge? Check to make sure it's real and not just an emoji in the name.
- How long has the account been registered? Accounts that are only a few days old and feature very enticing offers are the biggest red flag.
- Do they have a track record? Check their previous posts and see if they've closed any sales.
- Are there any reviews or ratings? Look for reviews from real buyers.
- Is the price too good to be true? If it's selling for much less than the others, be wary.
- Are you willing to use escrow? A serious seller won't have a problem with it. If they refuse, that's a bad sign.
- Is the seller pressuring you to pay quickly? Creating a sense of urgency (“today only,” “last one available”) is a common scam tactic.
- Is someone trying to get you to leave the forum? Be careful of anyone who insists on closing the deal via WhatsApp or Telegram and charging you outside the forum.
- Can you prove what you're selling? Ask for reasonable proof before paying.
- Is everything in writing? The terms, deadlines, and warranty must be clearly stated.
